1. Introduction

This privacy policy explains how the mobile application Charades: Heads Up & TikTok (the "App"), published by Charades Studio (the "Developer", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use it. The App is available on Google Play and is rated for users aged 13 and older.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.

3. Detailed Description of Data We Collect

3.1 Device or other IDs

When ads are served through Google AdMob, Google's SDK accesses your Google Advertising ID (AAID). This ID is resettable by you at any time in your device's Google Settings. AdMob uses it to deliver ads, cap frequency, measure performance, and prevent fraud. If you purchase the premium lifetime unlock, ads stop serving and this ID is no longer used by AdMob.

3.2 Purchase history

When you purchase the premium lifetime unlock, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing and verified by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID, the product identifier you purchased, and the Google Play purchase token so we can (a) confirm your purchase is valid and (b) let you restore your premium unlock on reinstall.

3.3 App interactions and diagnostics

We use Firebase Analytics to record anonymous events such as which screens you visited, which categories you selected, how long a round lasted, and when you completed a purchase flow. We do not use this data to identify you personally. This data is kept inside our Firebase project and is not shared with third parties for advertising.

3.4 Crash logs

We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic crash reports when the App terminates unexpectedly. Crash reports include a device model, operating system version, a stack trace, and an anonymous installation ID. They do not include personal information.

3.5 Videos and audio (optional)

The App offers two optional recording features:

Both features require your explicit permission for camera and microphone access, which you can grant or deny at any time in your device settings. Recorded videos are stored only on your device. We never upload, copy, process, or store your videos on our servers.

When you tap a "Share" button inside the App, the video is handed off to your device's operating system share sheet and from there to whichever app you choose (TikTok, Instagram, Messages, etc.). Once that happens, the receiving app's privacy policy applies to the video — not this one.

You can disable video recording at any time from the Settings screen in the App, or by revoking camera/microphone permissions in your device settings.

4. Third Parties We Share Data With

We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles the data it receives from the App.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not share your data with data brokers.

5. How We Use Your Information

6. Data Security

7. Your Rights and Choices

8. Account Deletion

The App does not require accounts. You can play without signing in or providing any personal information. If you have made an in-app purchase and want the associated anonymous purchase record deleted from our third-party processor (RevenueCat), contact us using the email in Section 15 and we will submit a deletion request on your behalf.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is rated for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App and we have collected their information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

10. Data Retention

11. International Data Transfers

The third-party services we use are operated by companies based in the United States and may process your data in the United States or other countries. By using the App you consent to such transfers. These services have their own measures in place (including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable) to protect data transferred out of the European Economic Area.

12. Your Privacy Rights

12.1 California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Advertising identifiers shared with AdMob for advertising may qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA; you can opt out by enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in your device settings or by purchasing the premium lifetime unlock. To exercise CCPA/CPRA rights, contact us at the email in Section 15.

12.2 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under applicable data protection law:

The legal bases we rely on are: your consent (for optional features such as video recording), performance of a contract (for premium purchases), and legitimate interests (for analytics, crash reporting, and fraud prevention). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email in Section 15.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be reflected in an updated Data Safety declaration on Google Play. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Third-Party Links and Share Destinations

When you share a video from the App, your device's OS share sheet may present third-party apps such as TikTok, Instagram, Messages, or email. Once you send the video to one of those apps, its privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party destination.
